European Destination of Excellence Week

European Commission; The European Destination of Excellence (EDEN) project aims not to draw attention to the common and different characteristics and values of European tourist destinations and to promote economic development by providing tourism with social, cultural and environmental sustainability. In this context, the European Commission identified the 2011 EDEN theme as "Improved Physical Spaces".

 European Commission; The European Destination of Excellence (EDEN) project aims not to draw attention to the common and different characteristics and values of European tourist destinations and to promote economic development by providing tourism with social, cultural and environmental sustainability. In this context, the European Commission identified the 2011 EDEN theme as "Improved Physical Spaces".

Five finalist destinations with the highest score were identified as a result of the evaluation made on the basis of the evaluation made by the Ministry of Culture after the evaluation made considering the destination creation capacity of the potential for improved physical facilities.

Our beautiful city entered the first five in Tarsus and became a finalist. Tarsus Municipality has prepared with the slogan of "ST. PAUL'S FOOTPRINTING IN TARSUS", the European Destination of Excellence Contest will be 2011 Turkey National Destination.

 

The committee from the Ministry of Culture visited the historical and tourist sites of our city on April 19, 2011. As a result of field visits to the members of the Evaluation Committee, the European Distinguished Destinations Competition 2011 Turkey National Destination will be determined.
